BuCor chief Bantag tests positive for coronavirus
MANILA, Philippines — Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Director General Gerald Bantag has tested positive for the new coronavirus, he told reporters on Monday. Bantag said he received the results of his swab test on Sunday night.
Two nights before, the BuCor chief recounted experiencing chills, headache, cough and fever — all of which are symptoms of COVID-19 — but subsided when he took paracetamol and vitamin C. Bantag was subjected to a swab test on Saturday after his driver and security aide were infected with the virus.
BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag had also tested positive for coronavirus.
