Quezon COVID-19 death toll jumps to 53
LUCENA CITY — The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) death toll in Quezon province rose to 53 after three more patients died on Thursday.
Records from the Integrated Provincial Health Office as of 5 p.m. of September 17 showed that two of the new COVID-19 fatalities were from Lucena City and one from the neighboring town of Sariaya.
No other details on the fatalities were provided.
Lucena City recorded the highest number of mortalities from COVID-19 with a total of 11 deaths while Sariaya logged six.
Meanwhile, for the second day, Quezon posted another high recovery count at 51 with Lucena and Mauban town topping the list with 15 patients each.
Article continues after this advertisementOn Wednesday, 52 patients recovered from the disease – the most since the pandemic broke out in early March.
Quezon, which is under modified general community quarantine until September 31, has 1,540 COVID-19 cases, 347 of which are active. The province now logged a total of 1,140 recoveries.
