MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte misses riding a motorcycle so much he tried mounting one inside the Malacañang compound on Wednesday night.
In photos posted on social media by his former aide and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, a face mask-wearing Duterte is seen onboard a motorcycle while members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) surrounded him.
It was not clear if the President actually took the motorcycle for a spin.
“Gusto na talagang mag motor ni Tatay Digong! Sobrang nami-miss nya ang pag sakay! Muntik ng di maawat ng PSG!” Go said in the post.
The 75-year-old leader has been known for his passion for motorcycles.
In October last year, Duterte figured in a motorcycle accident at the grounds of Malacanang.
He sustained injuries and bruises from the fall which forced him to cut short his visit to Japan for the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito.
