Girl, 2, returning to Misamis Oriental from Cebu found positive for coronavirus
ILIGAN CITY—A two-year-old girl who returned with her mother from Cebu to Lugait town in Misamis Oriental tested positive for SARS CoV2, the virus which causes COVID-19.
The child is the town’s 12th COVID-19 patient, said Dr. Jarlim Jarales, municipal health officer.
The child and her mother arrived in the town last Aug. 27 from Lapu-lapu City in Cebu. They were isolated and tested.
The child was positive in a rapid test and a more exhaustive testing was done last Sept. 10.
Her mother tested negative for the virus.
Still, the mother was allowed inside the isolation facility so she can take care of the child.
Of Lugait’s 12 cases, four were due to local virus transmission.
