BALIWAG, Bulacan–Police arrested a 29-year-old woman who allegedly duped victims into entrusting their money to her in exchange for hefty profits, collecting up to P13 million from unsuspecting individuals.
Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, said Lea Ulang has preyed on people in the province by luring them into investing in what she described as a “fishpond business.”
Investigators said the promised 30-percent earnings turned out to be bogus.
Ulang, a bangus (milkfish) trader from Rizal province, was arrested by police serving a warrant issued by a court in Bulacan for estafa.
Police said Ulang had also preyed on a number of residents in Mandaluyong City and other parts of Metro Manila.
