MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Cathedral has finally reopened to the public after six months of closure due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
According to an announcement on Monday, Eucharistic celebrations at the minor basilica shall resume starting Sept. 16, allowing only a maximum of 80 persons per Mass on a first-come, first-served basis. Face shields and masks are required.
There will be Masses from Monday to Friday every 7:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.; on Saturdays (7:30 a.m.) and Sundays (8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.). The Cathedral is also open for private prayers from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
All Masses will still be livestreamed online through the minor basilica’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
On Sundays, churchgoers at the Manila Cathedral can stay in Plaza Roma, where they can also receive communion.
