MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board will start cashless transactions for all vehicles traversing the expressways on Nov. 2.

On Aug. 13, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade ordered the mandatory use of cashless or contactless payment transactions at toll ways to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19.

“This initiative will not only reduce human intervention in payments. It will ensure a more efficient flow of traffic within the expressways. Motorists will breeze through the toll way plaza when they pay for the fees,” said Transportation Assistant Secretary Mark Steven Pastor. —Mariejo S. Ramos
