Cardinal Tagle tests positive for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Former Manila Archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who is currently the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), it said that Tagle tested positive upon arrival in Manila from the Vatican on Thursday.

CBCP said the 63-year-old Cardinal-Bishop is asymptomatic, and is currently in isolation

“BREAKING: Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle tests positive for #coronavirus upon his arrival in Manila yesterday, Vatican News reported. He is asymptomatic and in quarantine,” CBCP said, sharing a tweet from Vatican News.
