/ 05:18 AM September 11, 2020

Teresa Orioste Enano, 66, peacefully joined her Creator on Sept. 8, 2020, after a brave battle with breast cancer. She spent her final days surrounded by her family in their home.

Thess, as she was known to her family, friends and colleagues, had a well-established career in the insurance industry in the Philippines. She served numerous capacities in different insurance companies, including Country Bankers Insurance Corp. and Asianlife Financial Assurance Corp. At the time of her passing, she was the assistant vice president of the life benefits and claims department of Philippine Life Financial Assurance Corp.

Through diligence and persistence, she rose above the ranks in her corporate career that spanned over 40 years. With her decadeslong experience, she guided hundreds of young professionals in the industry, many of whom consider her as their second mother.

Even in the midst of her battle with cancer last year, she remained steadfast in her personal mission to serve as a mentor to her staff and colleagues.

FEATURED STORIES

Always with a warm smile, a listening ear and a book in her hands, Thess’ passing is a most profound loss to her family, whom she always said was at the core of her life. She is survived by husband Jesus Jr.; children Jhesset Thrina, Jhester Jhoy and Maybelline Misset; grandchild Reylline and brother Edison.

Jhesset Thrina is an Inquirer reporter. She said that her mother was always immensely proud reading her reports on the environment in the newspaper. She collected her daughter’s news clippings.

Her wake is in Our Lady of Fatima Chapel at St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Marikina City. A funeral Mass will be held on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. Her remains will be cremated at noon on Sept. 12 at Loyola Memorial Park, also in Marikina.
