Ex-vice mayor of Negros Oriental town killed outside house
DUMAGUETE CITY –– A former vice mayor of a town in Negros Oriental was shot dead outside his house on Wednesday evening.
Kent Divinagracia, 45, who once served as vice mayor of Pamplona town, was killed by yet unidentified gunmen around 8 p.m.
Police have yet to disclose details of their investigation but eye witnesses said Divinagracia was about to get off his vehicle when the motorcycle-riding gunmen approached and shot him from outside his car window.
He was shot three times, including one to the head.
Divinagracia was immediately rushed to the Silliman University Medical Center in this city but was declared dead on arrival at 9:13 p.m.
Police have yet to identify the perpetrators and the motive behind the killing.
Aside from being vice mayor, Divinagracia also served as a councilor of Pamplona.
At the time of his death, he was a civil service officer of the town, police records showed.
