Nueva Vizcaya town extends MECQ status until Sept. 30
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya –– The modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) imposed on Solano town has been extended for another 15 days as cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continued to rise, officials said.
The provincial COVID-19 task force has approved the recommendation of Solano’s inter-agency task force to extend its MECQ period, which will initially end on Sept. 15, until the end of this month.
Solano councilor Eddie Tiongson said the extension would allow them to implement more effective strategies to contain the spread of this virus.
As of Wednesday, Solano has recorded eight deaths due to COVID-19. The latest was a 54-year-old man who died while being treated at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center on Tuesday.
