PhilHealth task force to submit findings to Duterte on Sept. 14
MANILA, Philippines — The task force investigating alleged irregularities in Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will submit its findings and recommendations to President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, Sept. 14.
“We will be consolidating and analyzing all the information and evidence that we have gathered through seven hearings conducted by the task force since we formed it upon your instructions,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, task force chair, told Duterte during the President’s public address on Monday night.
The President responded by saying he was looking forward to the report “with so much enthusiasm.”
Guevarra said the task force wrapped up its hearings on Monday, adding that its report would also include recommendations on the filing of charges against PhilHealth officials “who we shall find to be probably responsible for certain irregularities.”
According to Guevarra, the task force hoped to file some of the cases before the submission of the report to Malacañang, or recommend the filing of charges against those found liable.
