Woman, 73, is Nueva Vizcaya’s 7th COVID-19 fatality
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—A 73-year-old woman has died due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bagabag town, making her the province’s seventh COVID-19 fatality, officials said.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer, said the patient was from the village of Quirino and it wasn’t yet clear how she was infected with SARS Cov2, the virus that causes COVID-19, as she had no record of exposure to infected persons.
The woman manifested COVID-19 symptoms, like fever and cough, and was admitted to the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center on Sept. 3 but died the following day. Results of tests on her respiratory samples came out in the evening of Sunday (Sept. 6).
As of Monday (Sept. 7), Nueva Vizcaya has 197 COVID-19 cases.
