MANILA, Philippines — At least 500 grams of suspected crystal meth or shabu, estimated to be worth P3.4 million, were seized during an anti-drug sting in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
Reports from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the illegal substance was seized during a buy-bust operation along Interim Batasan Road, near the House of Representatives complex, on Saturday afternoon.
According to PDEA, composite teams from its Bulacan Provincial Office, National Capital Region Police Office, and the Quezon City Police District were able to seize the drugs from two suspects identified as Infante Dionision, 24, and Cory Arnel, 24, both residents of Batasan Hills.
Both also are drivers by profession.
Authorities found the shabu placed in two plastic containers. Aside from these, a sling bag, identification cards including driver’s licenses owned by the suspects, and the marked money used by undercover operatives to buy the drugs were also recovered from the suspects.
The pieces of evidence and the suspects are currently under PDEA’s custody. Both suspect may face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
