2 suspected drug pushers nabbed after tips from former shabu users
LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested two alleged drug pushers in a buy-bust operation here Friday morning after rehabilitated drug users tipped off the authorities.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, reported that anti-narcotics agents collared Rene Lagar, 38, after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay Ibabang Dupay around 7:25 a.m. Police seized 10 plastic sachets of shabu from the suspect.
Earlier at 7 a.m., police arrested Alfredo Marquez, 39, in another drug sting in the same village.
Marquez, included in the police list of identified shabu peddler and an ex-convict on a theft case, yielded seven sachets of meth.
A police operative disclosed that reformed former drug users in the village alerted the authorities on the illegal activities of the suspects.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
