Gierran to form own management committee in PhilHealth
MANILA, Philippines — In the first order of business, newly-installed PhilHealth chief Dante Gierran will create his own “management committee” as part of his short-term goals in his new appointment.
He said on Tuesday that while he has not yet started as PhilHealth chief as he was only appointed on Monday night by the President, one of the sure things he will do is to form his own management committee.
He did not specify as to the function of the said committee.
“Hindi pa ako nagsimula but one thing for sure I will create my own management committee, for a start,” Gierran said in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel.
He will also “go with the President” in the revamping of PhilHealth as it currently faces several corruption allegations.
“The reorganization. I will go with the President,” he said when asked of his short-term goals as PhilHealth chief.
In a speech on Monday night, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered Gierran to immediately implement a reshuffle within the state insurance firm.
He told Gierran to remove all the regional vice presidents of PhilHealth “whether performing at par, or in parity, with the other good ones.”
