On National Heroes Day, CHR honors human rights activists, frontliners

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Human Rights on Monday appealed for public support for human rights activists, whom it honored during the celebration of the National Heroes Day.

CHR spokesperson Jacqueline de Guia praised the work of human rights activists in fighting for the rights of the vulnerable and marginalized sectors. The CHR likewise acknowledge that the sector needs public support.

The CHR also honored frontliners against the coronavirus pandemic being faced by the country.

She also hopes that recognizing the country’s heroes will not only be done on one day but should be regularly done.
