Bus firm matriarch tests positive for COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The matriarch of the family that owns the biggest bus company in the country has tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Olivia Yanson is currently recuperating, said one of her daughters, Ginnette Dumancas, who is taking care of her mother.

Ginnette appealed to the public to pray for her mother’s recovery.

Olivia’s other children Roy, Emily, Celina and Ricky, in a press statement, said they have no direct contact with their mother but are praying for her speedy recovery.

The four have been locked in legal battles with their mother and two other siblings, Ginnette and Leo Rey, over control of Vallacar Transit Inc.
