English teacher, partner rescued after suicide try in QC
MANILA, Philippines – Authorities have rescued two men (not one as earlier reported) involved in a suicide attempt in Quezon City Monday, a Radyo Inquirer 990AM report said.
The report said that the special rescue team of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Quezon City have successfully assisted 44-year-old Joseph Fedelin and his partner Jefferson Alimon Quital from the 16th floor of the Victoria Towers at the corner of Panay and Timog Avenue in Quezon City.
Fedelin, who taught English online to Koreans, said that he slit his wrist and threatened to jump off the building after discovering that Quital was cheating on him. He said that they have been together for five years.
Neighbors of the victims said that they heard the men fighting before the incident. One of the tenants said that the two threw things at each other that morning, just before Fedelin threatened to jump off the building.
The report said that both men were rushed to the Capitol Medical Center to be treated for injuries.
