Teenager dies after drowning from a waterfall in Antipolo City
MANILA, Philippines—A 15-year-old female died Sunday after allegedly drowning from a waterfall in Antipolo City, police said Monday.
Antipolo City Police Chief Superintendent Rodino Elfa said that victim identified as Lunica Sadi de la Paz of Sitio (sub-village) Broadway in Barangay (village) de la Paz, Antipolo City, drowned around 2:30 p.m. Sunday from a 15 feet waterfall in Sitio Tulakin, Barangay Bagong Nayon.
The incident, however, was reported to police some three hours later, he said.
Rodino said that Antipolo City and Philippine Coast Guard scuba divers found the body of the victim at around 11:30 p.m.
He said that authorities received information that the victim was at the area for a certain celebration, but said that this is yet to be verified as investigation is still being conducted.
