NPTI chief’s retirement prompts latest reshuffle in PNP

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police chief Gen. Archie Gamboa ordered the latest reshuffle in the police organization after National Police Training Institute (NPTI) Major Gen. Ramon Rafael retired on Friday.

In a statement, PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said Gamboa assigned former PNP Health Service (HS) chief Brig. Gen. Herminio Tadeo Jr. to the PNP Finance Service. Tadeo was director of PNP HS for over six months, Banac said.

Replacing Tadeo is Col. Arthur Cabalona, who was previously from the PNP Directorate for Comptrollership.

Gamboa, meanwhile, appointed Col. Arcadio Jamora Jr. from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) to Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) in Northern Luzon.

Police Brig. Gen. Alfred Corpus will take the helm of the NPTI after his previous stint as DIPO – Western Mindanao.

Police Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Daway will take Corpus’ post as the new director of DIPO-Western Mindanao. Daway was the former chief of PNP Finance Service.

The latest reorganization is effective on Friday.
