MANILA, Philippines — Boxes of fake cigarettes with an estimated aggregate value of P15.7 million were confiscated by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) following an inspection at a warehouse in Bocaue, Bulacan Tuesday.
A statement from BOC on Friday reported that the BOC Enforcement and Security Service Quick Reaction Team (ESS-QRT) and Bocaue police raided the warehouse after receiving a letter of authority from Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.
After inspection, law enforcers confiscated 246 cases containing different brands of counterfeit cigarettes.
The fake items will still undergo further investigation and inventory, BOC also noted.
