Bureau of Customs (BOC) intelligence agents have seized P10 million worth of illegal cigarettes and unlicensed firearms during a raid on an establishment in Makati City.

Also seized were coronavirus test kits and Chinese medicine Lianhua Qingwen Jiaonang, reportedly used to treat mild and moderate coronavirus cases in China, as well as face masks and liquor.

Intelligence Group deputy commissioner Raniel Ramiro said that BOC agents, with the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Philippine Coast Guard, conducted the raid.

The Chinese nationals found at the establishment were brought to the NBI for the filing of cases of smuggling and illegal possession of firearms. —Tina G. Santos
