3 of 6 Tabaco, Albay jail escapees captured

LEGAZPI CITY–Police and jail guards have arrested on Wednesday night three of the six inmates who bolted the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) custodial facility in Tabaco City, Albay, a police report said.

Escapees Eric Barrameda of Bacacay, Albay, along with Alfonso Ceneta and Benjamin Reyes Jr., both of Tabaco City, were caught several hours after they bolted the jail at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

The manhunt was launched by the local police force and BJMP personnel, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Norlando Mesa, Tabaco City police chief.

BJMP tracker units are still in pursuit of the other escapees — Kevin Braga of Tiwi town, Glen Balmedina of Bacacay, and Rodney Cagud of Tabaco City.

The BJMP initial report said the six inmates  were able to escape the facility by  jumping over the fence.

The fugitives are accused of various crimes ranging from homicide, murder, rape and child abuse .
