SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES—A 69-year-old man died on Monday (Aug. 24) in Olongapo City, four days after he tested positive for SARS Cov2, the virus that causes COVID-19, officials said on Wednesday (Aug. 26).
Olongapo Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the man was the city’s sixth COVID-19 fatality.
On Tuesday (Aug. 25), the city recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases, which raised its tally to 67.
Paulino said the new cases were discovered through testing and involved the close contacts of four earlier COVID-19 patients.
All the new patients had direct contact with people later confirmed as virus carriers and caught the virus at home.
