CEBU CITY –– An office of the Cebu provincial capitol was burglarized by a lone suspect past midnight on Monday, Aug. 24.

Cash amounting to at least P16,000 at the Accounting Office was lost.

Col. Roderick Mariano, the director of Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), said closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed that the thief entered the office of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) through a dilapidated wall.

Mariano said the suspect did not get any valuables inside PSWDO thus he went to the Accounting Office.

Mariano said there is a need to review the security arrangement at the Capitol so that similar incidents wouldn’t happen again.
