4.2 magnitude quake shakes Eastern Samar

TACLOBAN CITY –– A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Eastern Samar at 2:32 p.m. on Monday.

Based on the monitoring of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the tremor was the town of Guiuan.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 014 kilometers.

The tremor was felt at Intensity 4 in Guiuan and Salcedo, both in Eastern Samar, and Intensity 3 in Tacloban City.

Phivolcs said it didn’t expect any aftershocks or damages.
