Omnibus guidelines for COVID-19 tests yet to be approved — DOH
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday clarified that it has yet to finalize nor approve the guidelines on the conduct of COVID-19 testing.
In a statement, DOH said a certain TruLaboratories Corp. claimed in a social media post that the agency had already approved the use of antigen kits for COVID-19 testing.
“DOH clarifies that the Omnibus Guidelines on COVID-19 Testing HAS NOT YET BEEN FINALIZED OR APPROVED, nor has it been signed and issued for implementation,” DOH said.
“Moreover, while there are antigen kits approved for commercial use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), DOH does not endorse specific brands or distributors,” it added.
The DOH reminded the public to be vigilant and verify information through its website and other social media pages.
Earlier, DOH said it will issue omnibus guidelines for different testing methodologies.
