8 pm to 5 am curfew stays in Bulacan despite return to GCQ
CITY OF MALOLOS – An 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew in Bulacan will continue to be enforced in spite of the easing of restrictions when the province reverted back to a general community quarantine (GCQ) from a two-week long modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) that ended on August 19.
The Bulacan Curfew and Quarantine Pass Ordinance, numbered 87-2020, tasks the police and barangay officials to detain curfew violators. Only authorized persons outside their residence (APOR) and employees returning home from work would be exempted.
Records at the Bulacan police indicated that violators were made to fulfill hours of community service, pending the passage of a new curfew law with stiffer penalties. CARMELA REYES-ESTROPE
