PDEA destroys P13B worth of illegal drugs
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday destroyed over P13.4 billion worth of dangerous drugs in Trece Martires City, Cavite province.
PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva said the illegal drugs weighing 2.1 tons were destroyed through thermal decomposition or the process of breaking down chemical compounds by heat.
Villanueva said the destruction of the illegal drugs, which were confiscated in various antidrug operations by the police and other law enforcement units, was “the biggest volume in the history of the PDEA.” —Nestor Corrales
