PDEA: P13.36 B seized illegal drugs destroyed in Cavite facility
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities destroyed a record P13.36 billion worth of illegal drugs and substances at the Integrated Waste Management, Inc. facility in Trece Martires City, Cavite on Friday.
Data from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) Laboratory Service showed that the following narcotics were destroyed:
-1,938,395.26 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of P13,181,087,768.00;
-77,921.73 grams of marijuana worth P9,350,607.60;
-9,213.28 grams of cocaine worth P48,830,384.00;
-3,240.01 grams of MDMA or ecstasy worth P11,016,034.00;

-10.05 grams of methylephedrine worth P16,080.00;
-55.45 grams of diazepam worth P4,297.38;
-4.48 grams of MDA worth P72.58; and
-400 ml. liquid shabu worth P816,000.00.
Thermal decomposition process was used to destroy the over 2 tons of contraband.
“We will destroy the biggest drug haul or biggest destruction in the history of drug law enforcement. We are about to destroy 2.1 tons of shabu worth P13.36 billion. Sobra sa kalahati po dito ang haul ng ating PNP and the rest is coming from the PDEA (More than half of this
is from PNP and the rest is from PDEA),” PDEA chief Wilkins Villanueva said before the destruction of the illegal drugs.
PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said most of the illegal drugs were seized by police operatives in Bulacan and Cavite.
“Actually ito yung bulk galing Bulacan, almost 828 (kilograms) I think and then yung sa Cavite it’s around 300 (kilograms),” he said.

Gamboa also announced that police officers involved in the confiscation of the illegal drugs will receive incentives.
PDEA, meanwhile, said the destruction of seized narcotics is in compliance with the policies on the custody and destruction of
dangerous drugs under Section 21, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
