The Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City was inaugurated 30 years ago today, on Jan. 23, 1982. Established through Presidential Decree No. 1823, it was created to provide specialized pulmonary care to Filipinos. In 1998, a fire destroyed 80 percent of the hospital.
