FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City –– Sixty-one repatriated overseas Filipino workers were sent-off on Thursday, Aug. 20, after they completed their quarantine period at the We Heal As One Center here, the government’s information office said.

They are the first batch to be discharged from the facility and were given a simple ceremony by the Bureau of Quarantine and the medical staff before they were fetched by their families, according to the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

The facility has 478 air-conditioned rooms dedicated to COVID-19 patients, while 44 rooms are for the medical stations.

The Fort Magsaysay quarantine center is part of the national government’s strategy to convert major facilities into quarantine sites for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms, or who are asymptomatic, PCOO says.
