A 61-year-old man was arrested for allegedly throwing his wife into a river after an argument over dinner arrangements on Aug. 16.

Douglas Harold Green and his wife were at a resort in Utah, USA, when they got into a quarrel, as per the Deseret News the day after.

When his wife “refused to do what he asked,” Green became angry and threatened to drown her in the nearby river. According to a police affidavit, Green then dragged his wife to the riverside and “forced her in.”

Following the incident, bystanders tried to approach and help Green’s wife. However, Green reportedly shouted at them, telling them to stay away from her.

Employees later contacted the authorities and informed them of what had happened. When police arrived at the scene, they found that the wife had sustained bruises on her arms.

Officers arrested Green on Aug. 17 and booked him into the Wasatch County Jail. According to the report, they charged him with assault and aggravated kidnapping in the course of committing unlawful detention. Ryan Arcadio /ra
