Cargo ship sinks off Antique

ILOILO CITY, Philippines –A cargo ship with 35,000 bags of cement sank off the coast of Antique early Sunday.

The San Jose, Antique police office reported that the MV Sea Ford sank around 2 a.m. 200 meters off Barangay San Pedro in the capital town of San Jose.

All 18 crew members were rescued by fishermen and rescue teams, according to Chief Inspector Gilbert Gorero, San Jose police chief.

The ship was on its way to the port of Lipata in Culasi, Antique from Cagayan de Oro City when it sank.  The cause of the sinking is still being investigated.
