DOH, Palace chide Gadon for misinformation

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) and Malacañang chided controversial lawyer Larry Gadon on Monday for his statement against the use of masks, stressing that his peddling of misinformation endangers people’s lives.

“Statements such as this are not helping us at all. People may follow and then they would get sick,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire told reporters.

Over the weekend, Gadon was photographed with a mask glued to his face shield. Gadon claimed that face masks are useless against coronavirus.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Gadon was not a doctor so it was his own personal opinion, but the public should still wear masks to avoid catching the virus.
