CABANATUAN CITY—Two policemen, a traffic aide and three health workers, all on the frontline of pandemic response in Nueva Ecija, were added to the province’s tally of COVID-19 cases, showing how coronavirus could be easily transmitted.
The two policemen, both of Jaen town, were a 32-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man. They are now on quarantine.
The provincial pandemic task force said the two could have been exposed to an infected policeman, a high-ranking officer, who was from Bongabon town but had a tour of duty in Jaen.
Aside from the two policemen, four others who are on the frontline of pandemic response in the province had been infected.
They included a 38-year-old traffic aide from San Nicolas, Gapan City and three health care workers aged 30-48 from this city and the towns of General Mamerto Natividad and Gabaldon.
The new cases raised to 320 the total COVID-19 tally in Nueva Ecija. At least 150 had recovered and 15 died.
