Bohol resident dead from COVID-19

TAGBILARAN CITY –– Another Boholano succumbed to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday, Aug. 16.

Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap, in a post on Facebook, said the fatality, who had pre-existing medical conditions. was a resident of Guindacpan Island in Talibon town.

The patient had no travel history or a local stranded individual.

The patient was admitted last Aug. 12 at the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon and died on Aug. 16 due to “respiratory attack secondary to cardiac arrest, diabetes Mellitus Type 2.”

Yap said Talibon Mayor Janeth Garcia was already informed about the patient’s death.

Guindacpan Island was placed under lockdown while contact tracing was being conducted.

Guindacpan is a small islet with a population of 2, 216.

Bohol has 123 cases of COVID-19, with 26 active, 91 recoveries, and six deaths.
