Alleged NPA rebel killed, 2 soldiers wounded in Eastern Samar clash
TACLOBAN CITY – An alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was killed while two soldiers were wounded in an encounter in Dolores town, Eastern Samar at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Reports reaching the Eastern Visayas police said the government troopers were conducting a security patrol in Sitio Kabugawan, Barangay Aronganga when they chanced upon at least 20 rebels.
The encounter triggered a firefight that lasted for five minutes.

At least two soldiers were wounded and were given immediate medical treatment.
Members of the 78th Infantry Battalion and the Dolores police are now conducting a hot pursuit operation against the rebels.
