House of Representatives records 44th COVID-19 case
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives now has a total of 44 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases after another employee was confirmed to have contracted the disease.
House Secretary-General Jose Luis Montales on Sunday said the employee is from the Plenary Support Service who last reported for work from August 3 to August 5.
“She was a close contact of our confirmed case from the Committee on Rules,” he said.
Montales has assured that contact tracing is now being made.
As of August 15, there are 157,918 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, with 72,209 recoveries and 2,600 deaths.
