P5M dried marijuana leaves, stalks seized in Tabuk City
TABUK CITY — Dried marijuana leaves worth an estimated P5.04 million were seized from three farmers in a buy-bust operation in this city on Saturday, authorities said.
Joel Balingan Plaza, director Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cagayan Valley, said the dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops and stalks weighed 41 kilos and came in 31 bricks and 10 tubular-shaped containers.
Arrested were Mercedes Macaiba-Paclay and brothers Filbert and Julius Bagtang, all of Barangay Lacnog in this city.
“The PDEA is always on guard by keeping the public safe against illegal drug use and abuse even in the midst of this pandemic,” Plaza said.
The suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
