Nograles says he’s still co-chair of IATF
MANILA, Philippines — Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles is still the co-chair of the Interagency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
“I just want to clarify that I was not removed from the IATF. I’m still in IATF. In fact, I’m co-chair of IATF with [Health] Secretary [Francisco] Duque,” Nograles said in Filipino in a Facebook live stream announcement.
Nograles issued the clarification after a netizen asked him if he was removed from the IATF-EID.
He also explained that presidential spokesman Harry Roque was assigned as spokesman of the task force COVID-19 to allow “centralized” announcements to the public.
“I did not continue as a spokesman because the President already has a spokesman, who is Harry Roque,” Nograles said.
