Pagasa: Rain showers, cloudy skies expected nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and isolated rain shower will prevail nationwide on Saturday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is still affecting the weather condition in Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Because of the ITCZ, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over the Bicol region, and the provinces of Quezon, Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers mostly in the afternoon or evening also due to the ITCZ, as well as localized thunderstorms.

“In the coming two to three days, wala pa ring tayong inaasahang bagyo na maaring pumasok o bumuo sa ating area of responsibility,” weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said in the live weather update.

(In the coming two to three days, we do not expect any storm that may enter or form within our area of responsibility.)
