2021 Bar exams to be held outside NCR for first time

/ 05:22 AM August 14, 2020

Next year’s licensure exams for lawyers will be held simultaneously in Manila and Cebu City to lessen costs for law graduates from the Visayas and Mindanao, the Supreme Court announced on Thursday.

It will be the first time the exams will be held outside the capital but a regional testing site “will lessen the logistical problems caused by travel restrictions and curfew regulations.”

Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, who chairs the next Bar exams, has said the exams will “not be held at a date earlier than February 2021.”

The exams have been held at the University of Santo Tomas since 2011. The Supreme Court said it would later announce the venue in Cebu City. —DONA Z. PAZZIBUGAN
