3 Negros Occidental gov’t workers have COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY –– Three more employees of the Negros Occidental provincial government have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the newly infected personnel were from the offices of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the Bids and Awards Committee at the Capitol, and the administrative office of the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

At least 19 close contacts of the patients were swabbed for the COVID-19 test.

Diaz said a five-day closure of the provincial Capitol in Bacolod City has been recommended.

The three new COVID-19 cases bring to eight the number of provincial government employees who tested positive for COVID-19.
