MANILA, Philippines — A jeepney driver was gunned down by an unidentified gunman on a motorcycle in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a report from the Quezon City Police District, a man aboard a cab traveling north on EDSA witnessed the shooting at around 3 p.m. at the corner of East Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan.
The witness said he saw a motorcycle-riding gunman shoot the jeepney driver — identified later as Neil Paglinawan — using a handgun.
Paglinawan died on the spot, police said.
The witness told police that the gunman fled northward along EDSA.
According to the Scene of Crime Operation, Paglinawan had gunshot wounds in the head and body. Retrieved were empty ammunition shells and a slug.
