Coronavirus hits 83 more cops; PNP cases reach 2,621

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police recorded 83 more cases of COVID-19, boosting the total number of cases in the police organization to 2,621.

Of the 83, 32 were from Metro Manila police; eight each from Central Luzon and Bicol Region; six from Mimaropa; five each from National Headquarters and Special Action Force; three each from Calabarzon and Central Visayas;  and two from Information Technology Services.

Meanwhile, one case each was recorded from PNP Retirement and Benefits Administration Service; Anti-Kidnapping Group; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group; Highway Patrol Group; Western Visayas; Zamboanga Peninsula; Davao Region and Bangsamoro Administrative Region.

In its updated figure on Tuesday, 143 more recoveries in the PNP were documented, pushing the total number of survivors to 1,757.

Fatalities in PNP remained at 12 with no new deaths.

The police force is monitoring 2,152 suspects and 853 probable cases.[ac]
