60,631 Pasay families to finally get cash assistance

After more than three months of waiting, more than 60,000 families in Pasay City that have yet to receive any cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will finally get their share this week.

The DSWD-National Capital Region, through its financial services provider Starpay Corp., has assigned remittance centers Universal Storefront Services Corp. (USSC) and M Lhuiller to disburse the cash aid to 60,631 households in the city.

Of the total beneficiaries, 42,165 families from 112 barangays will be serviced by USSC, while the remaining 18,466 families from 89 other barangays will be served by M Lhuiller.“The coronavirus is still in our midst. We have thus undertaken all necessary means to make this [process] and distribution in accordance with health protocols. I call on the officials of our barangays to ensure the orderly, safe and efficient conduct of this activity in their areas of jurisdiction,” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said in a statement on Tuesday.The distribution will be implemented in Barangays 178 and 179 on Aug. 14, Barangays 183 and 184 on Aug. 15 and 16, and Barangays 177 and 194 on Aug. 17.
