Floods submerge 42 Pampanga villages
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — At least 42 villages in three Pampanga towns were submerged in 3-foot floodwaters on Monday after days of strong rain spawned by Tropical Depression “Ferdie,” according to the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council.
Twenty villages were flooded in Masantol, 19 in Macabebe and three in Apalit. High tide and water draining from upstream of Pampanga River worsened the floods, officials said.
