29 Isabela villages on lockdown due to COVID-19

CITY OF ILAGAN –– Twenty-nine of the 91 villages here were placed on lockdown from Aug. 6-12 as an enhanced community quarantine was imposed on the city, officials said on Friday.

Vice Mayor Kiryll “Kit” Bello would also serve as an acting mayor for 14 days unless sooner revoked by Mayor Jose Marie Diaz, who has been on home quarantine after contracting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Placed on localized lockdown are the villages of San Vicente (including the city hall and its ancillary buildings), Centro Poblacion, Bagumbayan, Baculod, Santa Barbara, Camunatan, Santo Tomas, Guinatan, Osmena, Calamagui 1st, Calamagui 2nd, Baligatan, Alibagu, Bliss Village, Marana 1st, Alinguigan 3rd, Cabiseria 10, Centro-San Antonio, San Isidro, Malasin, Arusip, San Juan, San Lorenzo, Alinguigan 2nd, Morado, Nanaguan, Rang-ayan, Minabang and Santa Victoria.

Bello, son of Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, advised residents here to avoid panic buying as the lockdown was only in selected villages.

Diaz’s wife Evelyn (sectoral representative for women), son Jay Eveson (city councilor), and their youngest son Jove also tested positive for COVID-19.
